Renovating can be a time for donating, too! While home renovations often create a new, more modernized, living environment, they frequently create a lot of waste as well. So what should you do with the extra – but useable – flooring, kitchen cabinets, doors and other remnants of your old life that you no longer have room for? Why not consider donating them?
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore resale outlet is one such place to donate used items – and purchase highly-discounted home materials as well. There are more than 60 locations across the country, and all proceeds go towards funding Habitat homes in your local community. These restores accept virtually everything household-related, including furniture, accessories, appliances, and building materials.
Every donation will receive a charitable donation receipt, and in many cases you can arrange for pick-up of the donation in question. For more information – and to find a ReStore near you – visit http://www.habitat.org/restores/default.aspx. |
