Mortgage brokering: A hazardous profession?While it doesn't seem to be the most physically intensive of proffesions, a Philadelphia-based mortgage broker recently proved that her profession doesn't come with its own set of health hazards. The woman was reportedly admitted into hospital this week for a bad case of "Blackberry thumb" - and had to undergo surgery. The woman, who said she spent up to 12 hours a day, on average, communicating with clients on her iPhone, started to feel pain, inflammation, numbness and tingling in her thumb.The tendons in her thumb were so badly inflamed that they had to be removed all together. Her recovery period is expected to be at least two months, if not longer. Just another example of the lengths mortgage brokers will go to to find their clients the best rate and product for their needs!    |
